How it works

From your first enquiry to delivery coordination

A clear sequence helps us assess feasibility, identify missing information, explain costs and agree responsibilities before movement begins.

STEP 01

Submit your movement request

Tell us what is moving, where the cargo is located, its destination, required dates and any special handling or delivery requirements.

STEP 02

Share cargo details and documents

Provide the shipment dimensions, weight, quantity, commodity description, packaging, commercial documents and any applicable permits or handling instructions.

STEP 03

Review the route and service scope

We review the request and identify the coordination tasks, transport modes, service-provider requirements, likely dependencies and information still needed.

STEP 04

Receive a proposal and charges

Where the request can be supported, we provide the proposed scope, estimated costs, third-party charges, assumptions, exclusions and payment terms for review.

STEP 05

Confirm and coordinate movement

After written acceptance, required payment and necessary documents, we coordinate the agreed arrangements with the relevant service providers.

STEP 06

Follow progress through delivery

We share available status updates and help coordinate delivery confirmation or resolve communication issues. Timing depends on carriers, authorities, route conditions and other external factors.

What to prepare

Help us understand your shipment

The more complete the information, the easier it is to assess routing, handling, provider availability and likely costs. If you do not have every document yet, tell us what is pending.

Sensitive cargo or unusual requirements?

Disclose relevant handling, temperature, security, hazardous-goods or permit requirements at the enquiry stage. Some goods or routes may be restricted or require specialist providers and approvals.

Shipment enquiry checklist

Prepare as many of these items as are available.

  • Shipper and consignee names, addresses and contact details
  • Cargo description, quantity, weight, dimensions and packaging type
  • Pickup address, destination address and preferred movement dates
  • Commercial invoice, packing list, purchase order or other relevant trade documents
  • Container details, handling instructions and equipment requirements, where applicable
  • Product permits, certificates, licences or special cargo declarations where required
  • Insurance instructions and declared cargo value, if applicable
  • Delivery contact, site access rules and proof-of-delivery requirements

Costs and commitments

Know what you are agreeing to before work begins

Logistics costs vary significantly by route, cargo, timing and provider. Abmia assesses each request individually and explains the proposed service scope and charges before confirmation.

Service fee

The fee for Abmia’s agreed planning, coordination, documentation support or liaison work. The amount and payment milestones are stated in the proposal.

Transport and third-party costs

Carrier charges, haulage, terminal handling, warehousing, inspection, insurance and other provider costs should be itemised or explained where they can be determined.

Duties, exclusions and changes

Government duties, taxes, permits, demurrage, detention, storage caused by delays and unforeseen costs may be additional. The proposal should describe how variations are handled.

Timing and availability

Transit estimates are not guarantees unless a written agreement expressly says otherwise. Schedules may be affected by carrier capacity, customs checks, port congestion, weather, road conditions, border procedures, incomplete documentation and other events outside the coordination provider’s control.

Frequently asked questions

Logistics movement questions

Understand the scope, information requirements and practical limits before requesting a service.

What does logistics movement coordination mean?+

It means helping organise the steps and service providers involved in moving cargo from its origin to its destination. Depending on the agreed scope, this can include route planning, transport enquiries, handover coordination, documentation checklists, warehousing and delivery updates.

Can Abmia move cargo anywhere in Africa or internationally?+

We can assess requests for Nigerian, African and international routes and advise whether suitable arrangements can be coordinated. Coverage, carrier availability, border rules, cargo restrictions and service-provider capacity must be confirmed for each request.

How much does the service cost?+

Costs depend on cargo type, dimensions, weight, route, transport mode, urgency, handling, storage, documentation, duties and third-party provider charges. We assess the request before issuing a tailored proposal. Government charges and third-party costs should be clearly distinguished from Abmia’s service fee.

Does the quotation guarantee delivery time or price?+

No. A quotation is based on the stated shipment details and the conditions available when it is prepared. Carrier changes, fuel or currency movements, inspections, congestion, weather, customs holds and other events can affect timing or cost. Any assumptions and exclusions should be stated in the proposal.

Can you coordinate customs clearance?+

We can help coordinate documentation and communication with relevant customs-clearing agents and service providers where agreed. Customs decisions, duties, inspections and release approvals are determined by the relevant authorities.

What if I do not know the cargo weight or dimensions?+

Submit the details you have and tell us what is still unknown. A reliable estimate may require confirmed measurements, packing details, cargo photographs or a survey arranged by an appropriate provider.

When should I pay?+

The proposal should state the service fee, any deposits, third-party charges, payment milestones and cancellation terms. Work begins after the agreed acceptance, payment and documentation conditions are met.

Can you guarantee that cargo will never be delayed or damaged?+

No logistics provider can responsibly guarantee that every shipment will be free from delay, loss or damage. We can help clarify handling requirements, coordinate available safeguards and explain any insurance or claims process included in the agreed arrangement.
